INTERNATIONAL PARTNERSHIP FOR RESILIENCE IN CANCER SYSTEMS (I-PaRCS)

I-PaRCS members include UICC, IARC, CPAC, ICSN and The Daffodil Centre

WELCOME

In March 2020, as a response to the pandemic, the Covid-19 and Cancer Global Modelling Consortium was established under the auspices of the Covid-19 and Cancer Taskforce. The aim of the consortium initially was to bring together the international modelling community to support decision-making in cancer control through research activities and shared learnings during and after the crisis.

Fast forward 2 years later, the collaborative research activities and partnerships within the consortium have evolved significantly. The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated the need for strong and resilient cancer systems that can effectively respond to health crises. As a result, we have recognized the need to not only address the acute impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, but also to build resilience in Cancer Control Systems post COVID-19. To support this endeavor, a global partnership approach is essential to ensure best advice and recommendations can be provided for key decision- and policy-makers (in particular those in low- and middle-income countries), to strengthen their countries' cancer control responses in light of any unprecedented circumstances. The Daffodil Centre (a joint venture between The University of Sydney and Cancer Council NSW), International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), International Cancer Screening Network (ICSN) and Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (CPAC) are committed to strengthening cancer control systems globally. Together, through a wide-breadth of research methodologies, we are working to build an inventory of robust evidence and data to support approaches to national recovery strategies and preparedness for future health crises.

Commissioned Research

Explore our key commissioned research addressing HPV vaccination disruptions in LMICs and recovery strategies, alongside comprehensive reviews of global health system responses to COVID-19's impact on cancer control. Our WHO-commissioned systematic reviews examine COVID-19 mortality risks, cancer care delays, and effective mitigation strategies, providing essential insights for informed decision and policymaking."
